Andrea McMahon

Interim Executive Director

Andrea McMahon joined the Family Promise team in April of 2025 after being a congregational coordinator in 2022. She first became acquainted with Family Promise of Gwinnett when her daughter attended a preschool that hosted families with the original rotational model back in 2011. A nearly GA native who has lived here since the age of one, she received her BA in English from Georgia State in 2005 and her Master of Social Work degree with a macro specialization from The University of Georgia in 2013. She also holds a certificate in non-profit management from UGA.

Andrea has a passion for justice and equity, and for the local church to be active in their local community. She is blessed to be part of the Family Promise Team, creating a space for the community to support families and to see families move from surviving to thriving. Andrea is wife to the amazing Andy and mom to 3 wonderful children. They live in Lawrenceville and aim to serve the Lord in all they do!

Monique Aimable

Program Assistant

Monique Aimable is a 2021 graduate of Discovery High School in Lawrenceville. Initially, she worked at Family Promise of Gwinnett as a 2021 summer intern via Summer of Impact, a program at Discovery. Immediately after her internship, she was hired as an employee. She is studying finance and accounting at Georgia Gwinnett College, balancing her schoolwork with a job she “has come to love.”

Involved in her local church’s food pantry, Monique engages in several volunteer opportunities in Gwinnett. Additionally, she enjoys reading, tutoring, and spending time with her family and friends. She is very glad that God guided her steps to where she is now, and she’s very excited to continue her journey, serving the needs of our guests.

Debbie Shelton

House Manager

Deborah (Debbi) Shelton, a native of Pensacola, Florida, has been in the Criminal Justice Field for over 25 years. She currently works as a Probation Officer for the Superior Court in the City of Lawrenceville. Deborah has an Associate Degree in Christian Education and Christian Counseling, a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry, Hermeneutics, both from Selma University, and a Master’s Degree in Apologetics from Luther Rice Theological Seminary and Bible College. She is an Honorary 2-time Summa cum laude recipient. She also holds a PhD in counseling.

She is the founder of the Zion’s Daughter Women’s Network Podcast, a national and international group of 1,400 women. Deborah is an ordained Elder and teaches and preaches throughout the United States. Her passion and love for Jesus Christ give her a servant heart to extend her arms out to those in need. Deborah truly believes her coming to Family Promise is by divine design. Deborah states, “Family Promise gives me the opportunity to fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ in servitude.”

Mallary Covington

Success Coach

Mallary joined Family Promise of Gwinnett in 2026 as a Success Coach after spending more than a decade in South Asia working in community and leadership development. She is passionate about helping families recognize their strengths, overcome barriers, and build lasting stability. As the co-founder of Ziyada, a social enterprise in South Asia, Mallary partnered with local leaders to create dignified employment opportunities and invest in children and families. These experiences deepened her belief in the God-given dignity and potential of every person.

Mallary earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in Intercultural Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary. She and her husband, Dustin, have three children and enjoy serving together in their church and community. She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Family Promise team and to support families as they work toward lasting stability and independence.

Jazmyne Whited

Strong Foundations and Intake Coordinator

Jazmyne Whited is a recent Bachelor’s of Social Work graduate from Walden University. Beginning her time at Family Promise in February of 2026 as a BSW intern, Jazmyne helped Family Promise of Gwinnett cultivate and expand its stabilization program to include the EMPath Mobility Mentoring model, encouraging executive functioning skills and offering supportive services to families in crisis or experiencing instability. Jazmyne previously spent time serving with our community partner, the SE Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry.

She is a mom of two wonderful kiddos and spends her “free” time journaling, thrifting, and enjoying the outdoors.

Cynthia Weaver

Community Coordinator

Cynthia Weaver is a native of Toledo, Ohio. She is passionate about serving others and believes that faith, compassion and a joyful spirit can make a lasting difference. She loves getting lost in a good book, enjoys a great comedy and spending quality time with family and friends.

Cynthia‘s professional career in television and radio as a Traffic and Business Manager equipped her with strong organization skills, attention to detail and a heart for serving people with excellence. Beyond her career, she has always been actively involved in her church, where she enjoys serving and supporting her church family in meaningful ways.

After volunteering with Haven House, Cynthia is honored to now be a part of the Family Promise team.

Whether through her work, her church, or her community, Cynthia strives to encourage others, serve with excellence and reflect Gold’s love in all she does.
