EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Ron Thomas
Board Chairman
Ron has 43 years of experience in the building/construction supply business, including roles with Sika Corporation, Hilti USA Corporation, and Puritan Chemical Company. He was the 2006 President of the Georgia Chapter of the International Concrete Repair Institute. Ron holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky.

Melissa Kennebrew
Board Treasurer
Melissa has over 20 years of tax return experience, working with a diverse range of clients. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Mercer University and a Master’s degree in Mathematical Risk Management from Georgia State University. Melissa is actively involved in various nonprofit organizations.

Alisa Ensley
Board Secretary
Alisa has worked for Georgia Power in various Corporate Communications roles for 26 years, managing marketing communications, brand advertising, sports marketing, and sponsorship activities. She has served on multiple nonprofit boards and committees, including the Club of Hearts, Collins Hill Education Foundation, the Adaptive Learning Center, and the Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV). Alisa is a longtime volunteer with Family Promise of Gwinnett and is a proud University of Florida graduate.

Jason Bright
Vice Chair
Jason earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech and works as a financial advisor with Thrivent. He has been an active member of 12 Stone Church for 15 years and has served in worship, marriage support, and recovery ministries. Jason also serves on the board of Bearings Bike Works and is dedicated to community service.

Carol Love
Executive Director (non-voting member)
Carol joined Family Promise of Gwinnett from Wilbanks Partners, where she specialized in marketing, events, and client relationship management. She was the founding Director of the former SaltLight Center and is thrilled to return to collaborate with churches, donors, and volunteers. Carol began her career at Ernst & Young as an analyst and marketing associate. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. She is grateful to the Lord for bringing her back to Family Promise.
TRUSTEES

Jeannette Best-Nunez
Jeannette, Chairperson of the Public Relations Committee, joined Family Promise in 2007 as a volunteer coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English/Education from Queens College (CUNY) and has worked as a freelance editor. Jeannette is an active member of St. Edward the Confessor Episcopal Church, where she chairs multiple committees.

Beth Copeland
Beth has been self-employed since 1998 as a leadership/team development coach and business consultant. She serves as Executive Director of Georgia Christian Business Network and God’s People Ministry, Inc. Beth is passionate about leadership and empowering others, partnering with organizations to facilitate cultural change.

Trenton Dockery
Trenton is the Senior Pastor at Grayson United Methodist Church, dedicated to serving his community.

Andy Ivey
Andy Ivey is Vice President for Advancement at TMS Global, overseeing financial development and marketing. He serves on the executive leadership team and has previously worked for organizations such as Compassion International and Habitat for Humanity. An Atlanta native, Andy holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Samford University.

Bill Lawyer
Bill Lawyer is a business development professional in the aerospace industry and a member of the Fund Development Committee. He has volunteered with Family Promise of Gwinnett and is passionate about raising awareness of homelessness.

DeLeasa Brown
DeLeasa Brown, an AVP of health information management operations, has over 30 years of experience in healthcare operations. A Gulf War veteran, she is passionate about leadership, women’s empowerment, and Christian entrepreneurship. DeLeasa holds a B.S. in HIM and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration.

Diane Degaetano
Diane Degaetano, a retired nurse with 44 years of experience, is now a dedicated volunteer. She participates in bible studies, the Lilburn Woman’s Club, and various ministries.

Dr. Dawn Marie Kier
Dr. Dawn Marie Kier is the founder of New Dawn Consulting, specializing in multi-generational people strategies. She has nearly 30 years of experience in Organizational Change and Talent Management and holds a doctorate in organizational leadership. Dr. Dawn is also a licensed and ordained Pastor and a certified Coactive and Executive Coach. She has worked with globally recognized brands and focuses on Values-Based Leadership.
