Bed Race
What is a Bed Race?
Corporate and community teams of five build their beds and compete in creativity, fundraising, and speed!
Schedule of Events:
- 9:30 AM: Voting on Beds
- 10:00 AM: Bed Judging
- 10:30 AM: Bed Parade
- 11:00 AM: Race Time
- 11:45 AM: Awards
How It Works:
- Teams of five (four racers, one rider, one alternate) race a bed on wheels down 228 yards around Historic Lawrenceville Square.
- Open to youth (middle/high school) and adult teams (18+).
- Entry fee: $250 (pay online or at registration).
- Teams choose a theme for bed decoration and participant costumes.
- Advance through heats with lots of fun!
How to Participate:
- Register your team and select “Fundraise.”
- Fill out your information and use your team’s name as the “Title.”
- Select “Create Fundraiser” to access your team’s fundraising page.
- Share the fundraising page link with your team, friends, and social media.
- Pay the $250 registration fee on your fundraising page.
- Each team member aims to raise an additional $200 to support Family Promise of Gwinnett and help end childhood homelessness.
Prizes: Fastest bed, best construction/design, best theme (bed and costumes), people’s choice, and highest fundraising team.
