Church Partner Volunteers
VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS: Our coordinators organize recruiting dinner hosts and provide for the basic needs of our Promise Haven families for the “hosting” week for their congregation, civic group, or community organization.
DINNER HOST: Prepare a hot meal to be served to the families at Promise Haven. Arrive between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM. You are welcome to stay and fellowship with the families if you would like, but it is not required. Dinner meals are needed every night of the week. Dinner hosts are typically signing up through our partner churches or groups.
EVENING HOST: Welcome guests into the house, socialize with families, serve as dinner host, and assist parents with children’s needs. Available times to serve: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Background check and training are required. Evening hosts typically sign up through our partner churches or groups, or are part of our Weekend Welcome Team.
Promise Haven Volunteers
WEEKEND WELCOME TEAM: Provide a gift of presence on Friday evenings and Saturdays to allow families to stay at Promise Haven and do chores or run errands and return home. The shifts for this role are from 6PM to 9PM on Fridays; 8AM to 1PM, 1PM to 6PM, and 6PM to 9PM on Saturdays; and overnight from Friday to Saturday (9PM to 8AM). You can choose how often you would like to serve in this way. Background check and training are required.
MOBILITY MENTORS: A Mobility Mentor in the Strong Foundations program commits to walking alongside a family for 6–12 months, offering encouragement, accountability, and guidance as they pursue the goals they’ve identified in their personalized Goal Action Plan and work toward greater stability and independence.
LIFE SKILLS FACILITATOR: Share a training, class, or workshop in your area of expertise with our Promise Haven guests. Possible topics include Financial Literacy, Parenting, Nutrition, and Job Readiness/Resume Building.

Facilities Volunteers
MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS: Help with interior and exterior repairs/maintenance projects at our facilities. (Painting, electrical, plumbing, etc.)This can be weekly, monthly, or on scheduled work days.
SERVICE PROJECTS: Help with special projects throughout the year. Work Days, “Spring cleaning,” and special events throughout the year as needed.
