Promise Haven Volunteers

EVENING HOST: Welcome guests into the house, socialize with the families, welcome volunteers and assist parents with children’s needs. Available times to serve: 6PM to 8:30PM (Monday-Friday) &/or 5PM to 8:30PM (Saturday-Sunday). You can choose days and times to serve during Community weeks. Background check and training is required.

DINNER HOST: Prepare a hot meal to be served to the families at Promise Haven. Arrive between 6PM and 6:30PM. You can choose how often you would like to provide a meal. Dinner meals needed every night of the week.

DAY HOST: Provide a gift of presence on Saturday’s to allow families to stay at Promise Haven and do chores or to run errands and return home. The shifts for this role are from 8AM to 1PM &/or 1PM to 6PM on Saturdays only. You can choose how often you would like to serve in this way. Background check and training is required.

Office Volunteers

DAY CENTER OFFICE ANGEL: Primarily screens calls and takes messages for staff. Also, helps with other office tasks. Shifts can be chosen throughout the week that might fit your schedule. It would be during office hours Monday-Friday (9AM to 4:30PM). Training will be included.

ORGANIZATION & MANAGING DONATED ITEMS: Provide time and skills to help maintain the items that are donated to our organization & families. This could be once a week, once a month etc.

SERVICE PROJECTS: Help with special projects throughout the year. Work Days, “Spring cleaning”, Special events. A few times a year.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE: Help plan and execute fundraising events. Develop sustained funding approaches. There are typically 4-5 fundraising events per year.

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE: Develop and maintain community awareness through online presence and printed communications.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE: Establish, maintain and improve operating procedures. Provide HR support

CHILDCARE: Provide childcare during Life Skills class for parents taking classes. Times and Days will vary.

JOB READINESS: Share knowledge and skills with parents related to interview process, job skills etc.

FINANCIAL CLASS FACILITATOR: Share financial knowledge and facilitate classes on financial literacy.

Facilities and Maintenance Volunteers

MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS: Help with interior and exterior repairs/maintenance projects at our facilities. (Painting, electrical, plumbing etc.)This can be weekly, monthly or on scheduled work days.

FACILITIES COMMITTEE: Oversee maintenance of properties and maintenance of vehicles.
