2022

August was a great month! We celebrated the community support of Night Without a Bed and welcomed new staff. See details and photos in the August newsletter.

With the help of our faithful volunteers, Ikea is renovating our office and family space at the Day Center. See the June newsletter for photos and stories about details.

The first family graduated from Promise Haven in May. The guest’s hand-written note said, “Thank you for the thoughtful and joyful cooking, soap, and abundance of fresh vegetables! We are incredibly blessed to be met with smiles everyday. We hope you continue to bring joy to those you serve as you have us. You made our days brighter, and we appreciate you! We could not have asked for a more prefect day for the come-back of the Bed Race. See photos in our April newsletter.

On February 7, 2022, the Georgia House Representatives passed HR 733, a resolution introduced by Rep. Donna McCleod and supported by four other local representatives, to recognize Family Promise of Gwinnett. See an excerpt in our March newsletter. The first families moved into Promise Haven in January 2022. At the same time, we welcomed Dana Bailey and Kelsey McCarty to our staff and Jason Bright, Jeannette Best-Nunez, and Andy Ivey to our Board of Trustees. See details in the January newsletter.

2021

Family Promise of Gwinnett has been very blessed to have built strong and enduring relationships, especially in 2021! We express our appreciation in the December newsletter.

In our September Newsletter, we highlight the generous companies who are sponsoring the Teeing Off to End Homeless Golf Tournament on Oct. 18. Plus we announce that the Promise Haven dedication will be Saturday, Nov. 6!

In our August newsletter, we note that our partners are our greatest strength and joy! In the past months, our community has come together to work, donate, raise funds, and support each other. Together we are furthering our mission to serve children and their families experiencing homelessness in Gwinnett County.

In our July newsletter, we spotlight more of our awesome donors, sponsors, and volunteers. It is truly amazing to experience the giving hearts of communities loving their neighbors.

When we distributed our June newsletter, we had raised $55,000 through Night Without a Bed – 93% of our $60,000 goal! Plus we had a lot of fun with a cookout and sleepout on June 26. See photos here.

In our May newsletter, we’re counting down the days until Night Without A Bed begins. We also welcome Monique Aimable, a student at Discovery High School, as a summer intern.
