Family Promise of Gwinnett’s Promise Haven Program is a 30-day program for families with children experiencing homelessness in Gwinnett County. Our program is intended to provide temporary shelter while families receive hospitality from community volunteers and case management services. Families must have a child aged 18 or under with school aged children enrolled in Gwinnett County Schools.

The program goals are to Make Money, Save Money, and Find Housing.

We provide case management that focuses on employment, budgeting, and parenting to reach the goal of long-term housing and stability.

Promise Haven is our Life Skills Program that provides overnight accommodations. The hours that Promise Haven is open for families are from 6pm to 7:30am on weekdays and 6pm to 8am on weekends. Promise Haven is a communal living environment which allows for 3 families to stay at a time. Our facility is able to accommodate families comprised of up to 4 individuals.

We provide a Day Center that can be utilized while Promise Haven is closed. The Day Center is intended for families to do job search and work on program materials. On weekends it is available for families to come if they need a place to be during the day.

Families must comply with the rules and guidelines upheld by Family Promise.

If families comply with the program and are actively working towards the program goals, then a need for additional assistance is determined and a 30-day extension will be evaluated.
